Mission:

Perform the characterization of nanomaterials using atomic force microscopy.


Functions to be developed:

  • • Perform microscopic characterization of nanoparticle morphology.
  • • Perform Force Spectroscopy, Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM), Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy (KPFM).
  • • Manage research and laboratory data: e.g., LIMS.
  • • Take responsibility for instruments, data analysis and manuscript writing.

Skills/Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • • Characterization of nanomaterials and interfaces;
  • • Self-assembly of colloids;
  • • Atomic force microscopy: AFM in liquid;
  • • Chemical characterization of surfaces;

Other requirements to consider:

  • • Communication skills;
  • • Project management, MS Office, Origin;

Specific Requirements

Knowledge:

  • • Nanomaterials and interfaces;
  • • Surface modification;
  • • Colloids;
  • • Nanocellulose;

Professional Experience:

  • • In Polymer Science;
  • • In Nanoscience and Nanotechnology projects;
  • • Experience in functions similar to those described (research activities in university and industrial environments);
