The Nanomagnetism and Spintronics Research Group is seeking a highly motivated senior researcher with demonstrated expertise in magnetic characterization of materials using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).

You will join a state-of-the-art research environment with access to cutting-edge analytical instrumentation at CEITEC Nano (see nano.ceitec.cz) and become part of an internationally connected team.

Position overview

The successful candidate will lead and contribute to research activities focused on nanoscale magnetism and spintronic materials, with a strong emphasis on advanced TEM-based magnetic imaging, data interpretation, and high-impact publication.

Expectations:

• • PhD in physics, materials science, or a closely related field, with postdoctoral experience.
• • Proven publication record in magnetic characterization using TEM, with clear expertise in magnetic imaging methods; experience with electron magnetic dichroism is a strong advantage.
• • Proven ability to conduct independent research, critically interpret complex datasets, and prepare manuscripts for high-quality journals.
• • Proven ability to obtain own funding.
• • Strong understanding of the research project lifecycle, including milestones, deliverables, reporting, and compliance with grant conditions.
• • Active contribution to the planning and implementation of research activities in line with project and funding requirements.
• • Willingness to participate in project meetings, scientific conferences, and continuous professional development.
• • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across research groups with diverse backgrounds.
• • Ability to cooperate effectively with the project administrative team, providing expert input where required.
• • High level of reliability, diligence, and responsibility, with a strong commitment to research quality and timely delivery.
• • Fluent English, written and spoken.
