Admission Requirements:

• • a) have successfully earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, achieving a final grade exceeding 16 out of 20;
• • b) be enrolled in a PhD program in Mechanical Engineering;
• • c) have experience in developing applications in Matlab, Simulink, Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems;
• • d) Availability to travel within the country and stays of 1 week in the northern region of Portugal;

Selection process

Contest Evaluation Method(s):

• • Curricular evaluation weighted to 70% on a scale of 20 points.
• • Carta de motivação weighted to 30% on a scale of 20 points.

Conditions for the Contest Evaluation:

The selection methods will be the following: In the first phase, 3 candidates will be selected based on their CV and letter of motivation with a weighting of 70% and 30% respectively. The candidates selected in the first phase will then be selected through an individual interview.

Composition of the Selection Jury:

• • Jury President: Marco Alexandre De Oliveira Leite (ist45269)
• • Jury Members: Carlos Baptista Cardeira (ist12462), Instituto Superior Técnico; Paulo Jorge Coelho Ramalho Oliveira (ist13093), Instituto Superior Técnico.
• • In case the president of the jury is unable to preside, they will be replaced by one of the jury members.

The work will be developed at Scientific Area of Control, Automation and Industrial Informatics, in the Mechanical Department of IST, under the scientific supervision of Profs. Carlos Cardeira e Paulo Oliveira.
