Research in the Division of Complex Fluids on the NCN Opus Project “Hydrodynamic interactions under Reynolds number much smaller than unity”. The main task will be to redesign the experimental set-up, perform experiments with particles sedimenting in a very viscous fluid, collect data, analyze and model the results, write or contribute in writing joint publications.

Skills/Qualifications

  • • Documented advanced training in mathematics and physics
  • • Documented experimental skills in studying the dynamics of particles in fluid flows
  • • Advanced programming skills (Matlab, Python, Fortran or C)

Specific Requirements

  • • PhD (not earlier than in 2016) and documented knowledge in science (physics, mechanics, mathematics)
  • • Documented knowledge of hydrodynamic interactions and hydrodynamics at Reynolds number smaller than unity
  • • At least 2 publications in scientific journals indexed in Scopus from 2018 until now
  • • Motivation and skills to carry scientific work
  • • Meeting the requirements of the Resolution of the Scientific Council of the IPPT PAN on the rules of employment in scientific positions http://www.ippt.pan.pl/attachments/rada-naukowa/2019-02-28uchwala_zatrudwanie_zasady.pdf
