A tender is open for the attribution of 1 Research Scholarship within the scope of the project CarSisPol - Characterisation of Polymeric Systems with reference PR3322, funded by their own funds under the following conditions:

Work Plan: The work plan to develop includes the following tasks: The work plan includes the following tasks:

• • Production of formulations based on natural or modified biopolymers, suitable for biomedical, biotechnological, and photonic applications;
• • Characterisation of formulations and derived systems, with special emphasis on comprehensive rheological characterisation, including the determination of viscoelastic properties through appropriate testing and modelling;
• • Support in polymer characterisation using techniques such as (not limited to): Rheometry; Melt flow index determination; Mechanical testing; Polarised optical microscopy; Surface wettability assessment;
• • Support in the coordination and execution of activities associated with the work plan, including data collection and organisation, preparation of progress reports, and technical-scientific presentations.

Workplace: The work will be developed at the CENIMAT|i3N laboratories from NOVA School of Science and Technology under the scientific guidance of Professor Susete Fernandes and Professor João Paulo Borges, with the contracting entity being NOVA.id.FCT – Association for Innovation and Development of FCT.

Fellowship duration: The fellowship will last for 6 months, scheduled to begin in February 2026, possibly renewable within the duration of the project.

• Documentation to be provided in the application: Applications must be formalized, mandatorily, by sending the following documents:

1. • Motivation letter;
2. • Detailed Curriculum Vitae;
3. • Documents attesting the academic degrees obtained and the respective final grades* (at the application stage, these may be replaced by a declaration of honor, as stated in point no. 2);

4. • Declaration of honor confirming the commitment to enroll in a Doctoral program or in a nondegree course integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, in case the candidate is selected for the scholarship and accepts its award, as well as any other supporting documents considered relevant for assessing experience.

   
   

   Note 1: For academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, it is mandatory to present proof of recognition of the academic degree and the conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese grading scale (process regulated by Decree-Law no. 341/2007 of October 12), or alternatively, to obtain equivalence/recognition of the academic degrees (process regulated by DecreeLaw no. 283/83 of June 21).

   
   

   Note 2: In the case of candidates enrolled in a non-degree course, the scholarship may have a maximum duration of one year.

• • Documentation to be provided in terms of contractualization: Proof of academic degrees or their recognition/equivalence when awarded by foreign higher education institutions; proof of enrollment in a PhD program or in a non-degree course integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution.
