The jury deliberates on the approval of absolute merit, based on the merit of the overall curriculum of the candidates in the scientific area of the competition and also taking into account, cumulatively, the fulfillment of at least one of the following requirements:

1 — Author or co-author of at least one article in the scientific area published in the proceedings of a conference or in a national or international journal.

2 — The decision of exclusion on absolute merit is notified to the candidates, by email, for the purposes of holding the hearing of interested parties.

3 — At the end of the approval phase on absolute merit, the jury begins to assess the candidacies, taking into account the criteria of this announcement.

4 — Evaluation and selection

4.1 — The selection method is curriculum evaluation.

4.2 — The evaluation of the scientific and curricular path focuses on relevance, quality and timeliness:

a) The scientific and technological production of the last two years considered most relevant by the candidate.

b) Applied research activities, or those based on practice, carried out in the last two years and considered to have the greatest impact by the candidate.

4.3 — The period of two years referred to in the previous number may be increased by the jury, at the request of the candidate, when based on suspension of scientific activity for societally protected reasons, namely, for reasons of parental leave, prolonged serious illness, and other legally protected situations of unavailability for work.
