The postdoctoral researcher will work with Dr Charisi’s to advance the goals of MMMonsters. MMMonsters

aims to detect supermassive black hole binaries using electromagnetic (time-domain) and gravitational-

wave (PTA) data and the combination of the two.

Within the framework of MMMonsters, the postdoctoral researcher will simulate and analyze gravitational

wave data from pulsar timing arrays. They will also help build the infrastructure to identify the host galaxy

after the detection of individually resolved binaries.


Skills/Qualifications

The successful candidate needs to have a Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics or related fields and advanced

knowledge of gravitational wave data analysis, in particular in the context of pulsar timing arrays.


Specific Requirements

The aforementioned required qualifications will be judged as follows:

  1. • Scientific publications in high-impact international journals (20%)

  2. • Strong background in GW data analysis and modeling of individually resolved sources (30%)

  3. • Experience with galaxy catalogs and electromagnetic signatures of binaries (30%)

  4. • Excellent knowledge of English (Proficiency level, 20%)
