The Institute of Philosophy invites applications for one fixed-term Senior Assistant (PostDoc) position in the field of philosophy at the Department of Croatian Philosophy. The successful candidate will work on the research project Wundt, Mercier and Modern Croatian Philosophy.

Applicants for the Senior Assistant position must meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by Croatian legislation governing higher education and research, as well as the additional criteria for appointments to junior research positions established by the Institute of Philosophy. Details of these criteria are available on the Institute’s website (Regulation on additional criteria and procedure for selecting candidates to associate and professional positions - Institut za filozofiju).

Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD in Croatian philosophy, with publications in the field of modern Croatian philosophy and a working knowledge of German. The Selection Committee reserves the right to assess candidates’ proficiency in German during the selection process.

Applications for the Senior Assistant position should include:

• • a curriculum vitae, including a description of the applicant’s previous research activities;
• • a list of scientific, professional, and public outreach publications;
• • proof of the award of a doctoral degree (PhD);
• • a motivation letter;
• • one research article published or accepted for publication; and
• • a four-year work and research plan.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the Selection Committee. They will also be required to give a 30-minute presentation before the Scientific Council of the Institute of Philosophy on a topic related to their current research and to present their proposed four-year work plan.

The successful candidate will be employed subject to a six-month probationary period.
