The Institute of Classical Studies and Slavic Studies at the University of Gdańsk is seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant in the Department of Slavic and Balkan Studies.

The successful candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Slavic philology or a related field and be currently enrolled in doctoral studies in linguistics. They are expected to demonstrate excellent command of both Serbian and Polish, preferably at a native or near-native level, sufficient to conduct academic-level teaching.

The candidate should have teaching experience in Serbian language instruction at the university level, as well as research interests in Slavic linguistics, particularly in the field of contrastive linguistics.

Experience in developing teaching materials, using modern teaching tools (including digital technologies), as well as strong organizational skills and a willingness to actively participate in the academic and teaching activities of the Institute are also required.

Additional assets include experience in the use of artificial intelligence tools in teaching, knowledge of other Slavic languages, and professional experience involving the practical use of language skills outside academia (e.g. translation, business environment, international cooperation).
