A central pillar of the activity of Department of Functional Surfaces and Interfaces is thin-film fabrication, with strong expertise in the controlled synthesis, deposition, and engineering of functional thin layers and interfaces. Through its two complementary research groups - Advanced Doped Diamond Materials (AD2M) and Gas Sensors and Functional Materials (GSFM) - the department develops high-quality thin films with tailored structural, electronic, optical, magnetic, and chemical properties for applications in electronics, sensing, energy, biomedicine, and quantum technologies, bridging fundamental materials physics with device-oriented research. 

What will you do 

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented PostDoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join our research team in synthetic inorganic and coordination chemistry. The successful candidate will join research activities on the design, synthesis, characterization, and investigation of transition-metal complexes, new redox-active ligand systems, and molecular assemblies for applications.

The successful candidate will engage in high-impact research, acquire new scientific skills, and progress in their career within a dynamic and collaborative academic setting. The PDRA will be responsible for developing and executing both independent and collaborative research projects centered on the synthesis of innovative coordination complexes. The successful candidate shall possess broad knowledge and practical experience in multi-step organic and inorganic synthesis, particularly with air-sensitive compounds and reactions.
