Job Summary/offer: The advertised position is located at the Department of Biological Sciences and Pathobiology / Ignaz Semmelweis Institute. The department focuses on teaching and research in infectious medicine and molecular host-pathogen interaction, the mechanisms of infection and inflammation in various species, intervention strategies for zoonotic pathogens, and the development of cell-, organ-, and organism-based biomodels.

Main Research Field: Immunology and Infectiology


Specific Requirements

A degree in microbiology, biomedicine, or biotechnology, with a focus on infection biology and extracellular vesicles (EVs), and a doctorate (Dr. or PhD)• Excellent written and spoken English skills (C1)• Excellent German skills (C1)• Proven, substantial experience in pathogen research• Proven, substantial experience in extracellular vesicle research• Proven, substantial experience in cell culture research
