are announcing a competition for NSC scholarships (Student 2) in the OPUS 27 project

Title: „ Mamutowa Cave – unraveling forgotten tangles. Human settlement from the Holocene to the Early Upper Paleolithic in the Light of old materials and the latest excavations”

Main research tasks of the Students: 

The research tasks are intended as part of a research scholarship for a master's student, for one year, focusing on materials obtained during old and contemporary research of the Mamutowa Cave. The master's student will work on documentation from excavations and archaeological material e.g. (lithic artefacts, ceramics, animal remains). 

It is expected that the student, under the guidance and supervision of the project manager and the contractor in the borders (dr hab. Jarosław Wilczyński ISEZ PAN, dr Damian Stefański, Archaeological Museum in Krakow) will make a preliminary inventory and label and repackage archaeological and osteological materials from the research of the Mamutowa Cave. 

All of these studies are to be conducted stationary, at the Archaeological Museum in Kraków and the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków.

Working schedule: 

• 3 days * 6 hours (18 hours)/week - note, during excavation work the working time will include 8 hours);
• Work on-site (not remotely) at the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Archaeological Museum in Kraków and participation in field research planned in the Mamutowa Cave in 2025-2026;
• The scholarship period is 1 year (12 months).
