The group of Supramolecular Photochemistry and Catalysis, led by Dr. Bart Limburg is looking for a motivated Postdoc with an interest in in situ spectroscopy, catalysis and photochemistry. The Postdoc position will be carried out at the University of Barcelona, within a young ambitious group with a friendly atmosphere. We offer a fruitful research environment in which you will be able to develop yourself as an experienced researcher under guidance of a young ambitious supervisor. The research project aims to study complex reaction systems to develop an oscillatory reaction tuned by light. In situ spectroscopy techniques (UV-vis, IR, NMR), transient absorption spectroscopy (transient absorption spectroscopy), and flow chemistry will be used. The results will be interpreted by kinetic modeling and multivariate curve resolution (MCR).


Tasks:

  • Spectroscopic analysis of complex photocatalytic reactions (UV-vis, NMR, IR)
  • Multivariate Curve Resolution analysis
  • Kinetic Simulations and Modeling
  • Development of photocatalytic flow reactions with in situ spectroscopy (UV-vis, NMR)
  • Transient absorption spectroscopy for mechanistic details
  • Supervision of junior researchers & Publication of obtained results

The ideal candidate has experience in photochemistry, catalysis, (transient) spectroscopy and advanced data analysis and modeling. They have experience in solving complex problems through literature study and performing control experiments. Gross salary per year:

26,029 € (0 years of relevant postdoctoral experience)

26,762 € (1 year of relevant postdoctoral experience)

27,495 € (2 years of relevant postdoctoral experience)
