Scientific Manager at ICTA-UAB

Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)

STUDIES

PhD degree in environmental (social) sciences, but preferably in the natural sciences.
COMPUTING
Proficiency in word-processing, presentation and data base softwards, e.g. Word, Powerpoint, Excel (compulsory); web-design and data
programmes (desirable).
LANGUAGES
Proficiency in oral and written English (compulsory). Excellent Catalan, Spanish and speaking and writing skills are mandatory.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Experience in the management of European and Spanish research projects including the organization of research and training activities, project-related logistics, outreach and communication activities, and project reporting (compulsory) and knowledge in the use of web- design programmes and data management (desirable); Experience in the management of quantitative research performance data (e.g. citations, impact factor) for the production of technical reports;
Experience in assisting with funding applications.
SKILLS
Knowledge of open science protocols and research impact strategies;
Strong oral and written communication and facilitation skills;

Ability to work autonomously as part of an international research centre with people from multiple backgrounds, cultures, and ways of knowing and behaving;
Leadership abilities, and willingness to work in teams;
Ability to set own plans and priorities, and manage own workload to meet targets and timescales;
Ability to be proactive and creative.

Benefits

42.270 Euros gross salary

Language skills: 15 points

Quality of the written statement: 10

Interview assessment:
Clarity and sharpness responding to interview qüestions: 50
Languages’ profficiency, specifically of spoken English: 30
Content of Referees’ letters: 20
70 points in the assessment of the CV and statement (first stage of theappointment process)
Maximum number of points in the interview-based assessment (second stage of the appointment process)

Selection process

First stage: Grading of CV and statement. Shortlisting of the 5 best applicants for an online interview.

Second stage: Online interview with the best candidates to select the most suitable for the post, with additional information provided by the referees.
