Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) is one of the largest universities in Germany. The institute FTMK at the faculty 05 (philosophy and philology) combines the subjects of film studies, theater studies, media cultural studies, cultural anthropology/European ethnology, and everyday media and digital culture in an interdisciplinary study program that is unique in the German university landscape.

Your tasks:

• Teaching in the B.A. and M.A. programs in Film Studies (8 seminar hours per week), particularly in the areas of AIDS Media, Queer Cinema, and Intersectional Feminist Film Theory
• Collaboration in research in the field of cultural studies-oriented film studies
• The development of a postdoctoral project would also be welcomed and supported
• Coordination of collaborative projects with film and cultural institutions in the Rhine-Main region
• Student advising (focus: International Masters in Cinema Studies)
• Supervision of B.A. and M.A. theses
• Participation in the area of discrimination-sensitive teaching in Film Studies/Media Dramaturgy
