We are looking for a colleague to join our research group with expertise in Prescriptive Analytics, at the interface of analytics and optimization with applications in production, logistics and/or supply chain management.

Job Duties:

• Conduct original research on topics corresponding to the institute's research focus and publish findings in international peer-reviewed journals
• Present findings at international conferences
• Actively take part in drafting, applying, and executing the institute's research projects and studies
• To teach Master's and Bachelor's courses and to (co-)supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses
• Provide support to manage the institute's general administration activities

Your Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in business, economics, business informatics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, operations research or a related field
• Experience in developing heuristic and exact methods (e.g., branch-and-bound/branch-and-cut) to address combinatorial optimization problems pertaining to the fields of operations management and logistics, particularly with multiple objectives and/or at the intersection of machine learning and operations research
• Publications in leading, peer-reviewed journals in the fields of operations research, transportation, or logistics
• Excellent programming skills (C/C++/Julia und Python)
• Strong command of english (both oral and written - level C1)
• Knowledge of German is an advantage but not a prerequisite
