The aim of this one-year post-doc is to develop the synthesis of polymers containing weak bonds embedded in macrocycles acting as hidden length. Linear polymers and polymer networks are targeted. The rheological and mechanical properties of the obtained materials will be characterized in depth by the partners of this project which is funded through the FNRS-FWO Excellence of Science (EOS) program. This post-doc involves thus strong components in polymer and organic synthesis.

The researcher will have access to the expertise developed in the bio and soft matter division of the IMCN research institute (https://uclouvain.be/en/research-institutes/imcn/bsma) as well in the research groups of the partners involved in this project (KULeuven_SMART, KULeuven-cMACS, ULiège-TPC, ULiège-NanoChem, ESPCI Paris-PSL, University of Manchester).

Starting date: as soon as possible

Desired profile: A PhD in polymer chemistry with good knowledge in controlled radical polymerization is required. Knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry is a plus.
