Topic: Extracellular Vesicles Secretion and Therapeutic in Stem Cells and Cerebral Organoids under Electrical Modulation

ES4TERM lab at Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology (IMN-CSIC) is offering an opportunity for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our multidisciplinary team to study stem cell secretome under electrical stimulation. This position is part of funded projects aiming to push the frontiers of regenerative biomedicine through bioelectrical modulation of stem cell in 2D and 3D organoid culture. The recruited postdoc will lead cutting-edge studies on mechanistic analysis of human mesenchymal stem cells and iPSC-derived cerebral organoids under electromodulation.

This fulltime position is available from October 2025 for 1 year with possibility of becoming 2 years. The salary is at M3 level.

We welcome applicants from different areas, e.g., stem cell biology, biomedical engineering, and molecular biology with considerable expertise in:

• Stem cell culture and manipulation
• 
  
• Extracellular vesicle isolation and manipulation
• 
  
• Live calcium imaging and activity measurements in stem cells and organoids
• 
  
• Experience with cerebral organoid models (is preferred but not mandatory)
• 
  
• Molecular and biological assays to characterize stem cells and extracellular vesicles

ES4TERM group has long track record in bioelectrical stimulation and holds several patented stimulation device and procedures. Our current interest is to focus on mechanism of action of electro-modulation in biogenesis and therapeutic cargo enrichment of EV secreted from 2D and 3D stem cell cultures. Beside basic science, this work also has translation and entrepreneurial objectives.
