Research project or operation

The host laboratory studies the genetics of various immune deficiencies in humans. Several new genes responsible for these deficiencies have recently been identified. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the functional characterization of one or more genes in various in vitro and in vivo systems.

Activities

• Description of the research activities :
• Purify proteins and characterize their protein partners under different conditions
• Biochemically and enzymatically characterize proteins
• Coordinate structural approaches in collaboration with partners
• Generate point mutants in cell lines using CRISPR-Cas9 technology
• Characterize the cellular transcriptome and proteome under various conditions
• Phenotypic characterization of a mouse model

Related activities :present research findings and participate in the dissemination of scientific knowledge

Skills

• Qualifications/knowledge :

Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams of biologists

Experienced in animal experimentation (mice)

Solid knowledge in bioinformatics

Excellent command of written and spoken English

• Operational skills/expertise :

Proficiency in standard protein biochemistry techniques (electrophoresis, Western blot, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, etc.), protein separation/purification, and enzymology

Proficiency in cell culture techniques and flow cytometry

Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, etc.)

Good knowledge of the CRISPR-Cas9 system

• Personal qualities :

Autonomy, strong communication skills, a genuine interest in teamwork, rigor, and a strong

sense of organization
