The University of Paris 8 is a member of the COMUE Paris Lumière alongside the University of Nanterre and is part of the Campus Condorcet.

UMR 7218 LAVUE (Laboratoire Architecture Ville Urbanisme Environnement) is a multidisciplinary humanities and social sciences research unit focusing on urban issues. LAVUE is characterised by a pluralistic approach to urban spaces, understood in their material and ideal dimensions, constructed and processual but also social, economic, environmental and political. Whether located in central areas, peri-urban areas or at the interface with rural areas, the urban environment is thus conceived as a central marker of contemporary societal transformations. It is considered in terms of professional, residential and urban practices.

LAVUE also stands out for its scientific approach: situated, co-constructed and critical, the research carried out by the laboratory's members is based on field studies open to international participation, in both the North and the South, as well as various partnerships, particularly with local authorities and social and civic organisations.

CONTEXT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
