Development of innovative preclinical therapeutic interventions against the early onset of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s (with emphasis on myelin and autophagy), and broader participation in the EU projects titled: “Development of cellular and animal models, as well as novel biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s” and “Development of innovative preclinical therapeutic interventions against the early onset of neurodegenerative diseases Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.” Contribution to Deliverables (experimental development/reporting): Evaluation of potentially neuroprotective chemical compounds Testing of pharmaceutical agents that suppress neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease Development of pharmacological inhibitors targeting inflammation and progressive neurodegeneration in the central nervous system of animal models
