Applicants must meet the conditions prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette 119/2022). Along with the signed application, applicants must provide personal information (name and surname, home address, telephone number, e-mail address) and specify the position for which they are applying.

Applicants must submit the following documents together with their application:

• • Curriculum vitae,
• • Copies of personal documents (identity card and proof of citizenship or proof of citizenship of another state),
• • Copy of proof of the appropriate level of education, i.e., academic degree of Doctor of Science,
• • List of publications, reprints of publications, certification of citations and indexing issued by the Library for Biomedicine and Health of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka (if applicable),
• • Decision of the relevant Scientific Field Committee on election to a scientific title (applicants who possess such a decision),
• • Medical certificate of fitness issued by an authorized occupational medicine specialist (for first-time appointment),
• • Electronic record or certificate of data entered in the official registry of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute on employment history (not older than one month),
• • Applicants whose native language is not Croatian must submit proof of Croatian language proficiency at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,
• • Applicants who completed their studies outside the Republic of Croatia must submit a decision on the academic recognition of a foreign higher education qualification.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the date of publication of this competition in the Official Gazette. Applicants must submit their application and all required evidence electronically to the e-mail address: natjecaji@fdmri.uniri.hr.

Specific Requirements

Applications may be submitted by persons of both sexes (Article 13, paragraph 2 of the Gender Equality Act, Official Gazette 116/03).

Applicants claiming priority in employment pursuant to:

• • Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette 121/17, 98/19, 84/21),
• • Article 48, item (f) of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13, 98/19),
• • Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20),
• • Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Official Gazette 84/21),

must indicate such right in their application and attach all documents prescribed by the respective legislation as evidence. These applicants shall have priority in employment over other applicants only under equal conditions.

Information on the required evidence for claiming priority rights under the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War is also available on the website of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans.

The Faculty reserves the right to conduct a knowledge and skills assessment and/or interview with applicants who submit timely and complete applications and meet the formal requirements. Applicants will be duly notified of the assessment and/or interview. If an applicant fails to attend the assessment and/or interview, it will be considered that they have withdrawn their application. The Faculty of Dental Medicine reserves the right not to select any candidate or to annul the competition without providing specific justification.

An applicant shall be deemed to have applied to the competition if they submit a timely and complete application and meet the formal requirements of the competition. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

By submitting an application, applicants expressly consent to the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Dental Medicine, as the personal data controller, collecting, using, and further processing personal data for the purpose of conducting the competition procedure, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) and the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (Official Gazette 42/18).
