The research activity will focus on the development of
design techniques for solid-state recycling processes applied to metallic
scrap materials. In particular, it will involve the development of numerical
models for the design of Friction Stir Extrusion (FSE), Friction Stir
Consolidation (FSC), and Continuous Friction Stir Extrusion (CFSE)
processes. The numerical models will aim to: identify and improve bonding
criteria,analyze material flow, study the evolution of field variables, and
predict the microstructure resulting from the analyzed processes.
