Selection process

Applicants must meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette No. 119/22), the Statute of the University of Zagreb, and the Statute of the Faculty of Croatian Studies.

The application deadline is 30 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The application must state: full name and surname, “Application – December 2025”, and must be submitted exclusively to the e-mail address: dekanov.ured@fhs.hr.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of the results by email using the address provided in their application. Applicants of all genders are equally eligible to apply. By submitting the application, the applicant consents to the Faculty of Croatian Studies collecting, using, and further processing their data for the purposes of the competition procedure.

Required Documentation:

• • A handwritten and signed application (including: full name and surname, date and place of birth, home address, telephone/mobile number, e-mail address);
• • A handwritten and signed CV;
• • Proof of citizenship, and for foreign applicants, proof of proficiency in the Croatian language (level C1);
• • Copies of all diplomas and evidence of meeting the required conditions and preferences;
• • A handwritten and signed report on previous scientific, teaching, and professional work, including presentations and participation at scientific and professional conferences;
• • A list of published works and works accepted for publication (in PDF format).

Additional comments

Applicants invoking employment preference rights under special regulations must refer to such rights in their application and attach all required documentation specified under those regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference over other applicants under equal conditions.

During the application procedure, the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb, acting as the data controller pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), collects and processes the personal data of applicants contained in the submitted documentation. The Faculty retains this data in accordance with the prescribed deadlines for the storage of archival and documentary materials, after which the data is permanently destroyed or, where applicable, returned to applicants who were not selected.

Applicants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing of their personal data by submitting a written request to the Faculty, either by email to dekanov.ured@fhs.hr or by post to the Faculty’s address. The Faculty will verify the identity of the requester in accordance with GDPR provisions.
