The Post doctoral researcher will integrate the research programme FRANCOVUL – Francophonie & world culture: vulnerabilities, imaginaries and practices », initiated by the association of FrED and EHIC research teams, within IRSHS.

The project aims at understanding how representations (literary, artistic, cultural representations) and actions (educational, social) coproduce, reinforce or transform vulnerable circumstances in French-speaking areas, and in their contact with them and beyond, and how this has an impact on politics, institutional dispositions and professional practices.

The research programme and the investigations to carry out, based on a strong multidisciplinary mindset, gather : corpus studies (artworks and artwork files, songs, visual arts, performing arts, festivals, medias, social medias); on the field work and investigations, (observations, interviews, workshops) ; digital humanities for the organisation, the analysis, the overview of the corpus and the metadata ; action-research and codesign with educational, social, cultural and artistic partners.

Through this participation in the development of the research programme, the post doctoral researcher will contribute to strengthen reliable connections between FrED-EHIC throughout the duration of the mission, by the creation, the involvement, the participation, the realization of a seminar research teams (4 sessions : Oct. 2026, Dec. 2026, Feb. 2027, Ap. 2027), a workshop (July 2027), publications, resources and documents publicly available (corpus, educational resources, public policy notices, notebooks/research websites).

Skills/Qualifications

The candidate belongs to the research expertise fields of Educational Sciences and Training / Cultural Studies / Literary Sociology and Media. He/she knows about/has expertise on at least one French-speaking field of research on the global scale. He/she knows how to use mixed methodologies (qualitative/digital). He/she is self-reliant and can take initiatives, demonstrates collaborative work ethics, can plan and entertain groupworks. He/she knows how to plan and lead events.

Specific Requirements

Specificities and obligations related to the position: mandatory presence for the events of the project (seminar research teams, workshop), professional trips to regional field works /local field works (Nouvelle-Aquitaine / former Limousin), for the investigations and codesign with the partners. Short trips (10 days) to French-speaking field search areas, on the global scale (to be disclosed during the interview for the post), for the investigations, workshops, initiation and strengthening of the partnership.
