The announced position corresponds to the Assistant Professor (PAD: Profesor Ayudante Doctor) in the area of Private International Law, assigned to the Department of Basic Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Legal Sciences. One position is offered (Competition No. 2506/2151; RPT Code: 1361557001).


The selected candidate will carry out teaching activities in subjects related to Private International Law, including Private International Law, International Commercial Law, Immigration and Foreigners Law, and Islamic Private Law, as well as other related subjects offered by the faculty.


Additionally, the candidate will be expected to integrate into the department’s research lines within the field of Private International Law, promoting scientific output, participating in competitive research projects, and contributing to knowledge transfer. The position is classified under UNESCO code 5603.


Applicants must hold a Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Law, or a Double Degree in Business Administration and Law, and must have completed a doctoral program in Legal Sciences with a PhD dissertation in a field related to Private International Law.


The selection procedure will be carried out through a competitive process, in accordance with current regulations applicable to teaching and research staff.

Skills/Qualifications

  • • Applicants must hold a Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Law, or a Double Degree in Business Administration and Law, and must have completed a doctoral program in Legal Sciences with a PhD dissertation in a field related to Private International Law.
  • • The selection procedure will be carried out through a competitive process, in accordance with current regulations applicable to teaching and research staff.

Specific Requirements

  • • To be admitted to the aforementioned competitive selection processes, applicants must meet the following general and specific requirements. General requirements:
    • a) To be at least sixteen years of age and not exceed, where applicable, the maximum compulsory retirement age.
    • b) Not to have been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings from the service of any Public Administration or be disqualified from holding public employment or office by judicial decision. Foreign nationals must not be in an equivalent situation in their State.
    • c) To possess the functional capacity to perform the tasks corresponding to the positions and not suffer from any illness or physical/psychological limitation incompatible with the duties.
    • d) Teaching contracts under labour law are not subject to nationality requirements, in accordance with Article 57.4 of the TRLEBEP.
    • e) To hold one of the degrees indicated. Foreign degrees must have homologation or a declaration of equivalence issued by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.
    • f) Submit the CV in the required format via the official website, accompanied by supporting documentation in a single PDF file.
    • g) Non-native Spanish speakers must certify a level of competence in Spanish equivalent to at least level C1 (CEFR).
  • • The requirements must be met at the time the application period ends and maintained until the contract is signed.
  • • Grounds for exclusion from the selection processes include unfavorable reports regarding:
    • a) Teaching performance as adjunct faculty or in another non-permanent role.
    • b) Research performance in the case of annual renewal reports.
    • c) Performance after the first three years of the Assistant professor contract.
    • d) Disciplinary proceedings resulting in sanctions in the three preceding academic years.
  • • Specific requirements:
    • a) To hold a doctoral degree (homologation required for foreign degrees).
    • b) Not to have expired the six-year period as assistant professor in accordance with Article 78 of the LOSU.
