Research fellow (m/f/d) in the field of “contentious politics/political violence/autocratic politics” with 2/3 part-time employment limited to a max. of 6 years in accordance with WissZeitVG - E 13 TV-L HU

Job description:

- scientific service in teaching and research in the Department of Social Sciences

- tasks for personal scientific qualification (PhD dissertation focusing on “contentious politics/political violence/autocratic politics”)

Requirements:

- completed scientific university education in social sciences, economics, political science or sociology (with above average accomplishments)

- preferably a doctoral project in the research field of the professorship (autocratic politics, conflict, political violence)

- very good statistics training, especially methods of causal inference

- excellent coding skills (preferably in R) or an interest to acquire such skills

- fluency in scientific English (at least B2 or comparable)

- experience with GIS is an advantage

- fundamentals of knowledge transfer desired

- social skills and ability to work in a team
