• • As per Article 5 of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, of 29 August, selection is based on an evaluation of the scientific and curricular background
• • The evaluation will consider the relevance, quality and recency of the applicant’s scientific contributions, specifically:
• a) Scientific output over the last five years, most relevant to the call's theme;
• b) Research activities over the last five years considered most impactful in the field;
• c) Outreach and knowledge dissemination activities conducted in the past five years, particularly those promoting scientific culture and practice
• • The five-year reference period may be extended by the jury at the applicant’s request in cases of socially protected circumstances (e.g. parental leave, serious illness, etc.).

Specific Requirements

Admission Requirements

- Applications are open to Portuguese, foreign and stateless candidates holding a doctoral degree and a scientific and professional curriculum suited to the duties outlined.

Specific admission requirements:

• a) Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a PhD degree in Urban Studies. If the doctoral degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, candidates must provide proof of its recognition or equivalence;
• b) Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in written and spoken English;
• c) Proven research experience in the thematic area of this call, assessed according to the following parameters: prior participation in at least three (3) R&D projects in the field of music, and cultural practices and policies in the Portuguese context; knowledge of the study of musical careers within the independent/alternative sphere in Portugal; experience in qualitative data collection and analysis; at least one (1) scientific article or book chapter published and indexed in WOS/ISI or SCOPUS; experience in the coordination and development of podcasts as a form of science communication for non-specialist audiences.

• • In accordance with Article 15 of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, of 29 August, and Article 2 of Regulatory Decree No. 11-A/2017, of 29 December, the monthly gross remuneration to be awarded corresponds to Level 33 of the Single Remuneration Table, approved by Administrative Rule No. 1553-C/2008 of 31 December, in the amount of €2,351.53.

Selection process

The selection method is the Evaluation of the Scientific and Curricular Background (ESCB), based on the following criteria:

• a) Scientific production in the scientific area of the call (Sociology of Music) in the last five years (30%). In the assessment of this criterion, the scientific publications considered will be: articles in indexed scientific journals, books, book chapters, conference presentations, organization of national or international scientific events, and awards. Scientific production in the project area will receive a 100% weighting increase;
• b) Research activities in the scientific area of the call (Sociology of Music) in the last five years (40%). In the assessment of this criterion, the following will be considered: qualified participation in research projects, participation in networks and partnerships, participation in academic examination boards, participation in editorial teams, and the review of scientific publications. All research activities in the project area receiving a 100% weighting increase;
• c) Outreach and knowledge dissemination activities in the scientific area of the call (Sociology of Music) developed in the last five years (30%), specifically the promotion and facilitation of culture and scientific practices and the dissemination of knowledge and research findings to society. Outreach activities in the project area will receive a 100% weighting increase;
• • The jury will evaluate candidates on a scale of 0 to 100, with the final score being the average of individual jury members’ assessments. In the event of a tie, the Chair of the Jury has the casting vote.
