Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Portucalense Infante D. Henrique University (UPT), within the framework of the activities carried out by the CINTESIS.UPT branch of the R&D Unit No 6397 – RISE-Health: Rede de Investigação em Saúde, funded by national funds through FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P., under the Program-Contract UID/06397/2025, according to the following terms:

Scientific area: Neurosciences.

Work plan

CINTESIS.UPT’s mission is to promote the translational acceleration of fundamental research in psychology towards healthcare, as a branch of RISE-Health – the largest Research Unit in Portugal focused on clinical and translational research in cardiovascular, degenerative, and inflammatory diseases. In this context, the fellowship holder will participate in CINTESIS.UPT, specifically aiming at the following tasks:

• • Organise and inventory the equipment of the Neuroscience Laboratory.
• • Develop operational protocols and supporting documentation for the use of the laboratory.
• • Develop and deliver training sessions for laboratory users.
• • Establish the laboratory’s operating infrastructure, including procedures for scheduling, safety, and ethics.
• • Develop collaborative pilot projects with relevant researchers and teams.

Workplace

The research fellow will be working at the premises of UPT, under the scientific supervision of Professor Óscar Filipe Coelho Neves Gonçalves.

Fellowship duration

This fellowship will be offered on a 6-month contract, predictably starting in January 2026, and carried out on an exclusive basis.

The fellowship cannot be granted, according to Article 6, paragraph 3, of the FCT RBI, if the timescale required for the contract procedure does not allow a minimum 3-consecutive month contract. Contract renewal, if any, will comply with Article 6 of the FCT RBI.

The call is open from 30/12/2025 to 15/01/2026 (until 11.59 pm, Lisbon time).

• • Academic degree certificate or, alternatively, a declaration of honour by the applicant confirming the completion of the PhD degree by the end of the application deadline, specifying the final grade and the higher education institution awarding the degree;
• • Detailed curriculum vitae;
• • Declaration of honour confirming compliance with the terms referred to in paragraph c) of the admission requirements – see template below);
• • Any other documents deemed relevant by the applicant.
