Description of the research subject :

Le Mans University is a multidisciplinary higher education and research institution based in Le Mans and Laval. Every year, we welcome nearly 12,500 students, who are trained in our three faculties, two IUTs (university technology institutes) and our engineering school in a variety of fields, including science and technology, literature, languages, humanities and social sciences, law, economics and management. Teaching is informed by the research carried out in our 15 laboratories, eight of which are affiliated with the CNRS.

Le Mans University is a member of COLOURS, a European university alliance selected in 2023, coordinated by the University of Paderborn (Germany) and which also includes universities in Spain, Italy, Poland, Croatia, North Macedonia and Latvia, for a total of 9 partners representing 126,000 students and nearly 12,500 staff members. Together, they aim to strengthen their European network, increase their international visibility and strongly

promote mobility in Europe. They also plan to develop a thematic approach to societal transition in order to jointly address societal challenges in the fields of education, research, knowledge and technology transfer. Among the alliance's actions, Work Package 2 (WP2) ‘Collaborations without barriers’ aims to contribute to the implementation of technical resources enabling, in particular, the provision of joint training, to support the implementation of individual study and student mobility programmes, and to facilitate the process of creating open academic pathways.

Assigned activities and expected results

The candidate will lead the implementation of a Learning Record Store in close collaboration with a data architect and a PhD student. They will work on managing data flows and the interoperability between the corresponding systems and data. They will also participate in the integration of data from the various institutions in the COLOURS alliance into the LRS, which they will be responsible for deploying and administering. Significant work will be carried out on the specification and implementation of one or more learning dashboards that incorporate the specific characteristics of an alliance with different teaching platforms and different pedagogies. Finally, he will actively participate in scientific experiments conducted as part of the COLOURS project and the thesis associated with WP2, as well as in the writing of scientific articles. He will participate in international collaborations with other higher education institutions in Europe, including delegation trips and public speaking engagements to report on the work carried out. Particular attention will be paid to team spirit and collaborative work in order to work around common values and methodologies. Indeed, communication is often at the heart of the success of projects within the university, the LIUM and CREN laboratories and the Digital Department involved in the alliance's WP2.
