Job Summary: A postdoctoral position (University Assistant) is available in the Equine Internal Medicine Service at the Equine Clinical Centre of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. We are seeking a veterinarian with a completed doctoral degree and completed residency training (board-eligible) or Diplomate status (ECEIM/ACVIM-LA) who wishes to further develop clinically and scientifically in the next stage of their career. The position is limited to four years; the starting date is at the earliest opportunity or by mutual agreement.

Specific Requirements

  • • Completed and recognised degree in veterinary medicine and a doctoral degree (PhD or Dr. med. vet.).
  • • Completed residency training in Equine or Large Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM-LA or ECEIM), ensuring board-eligibility.
  • • Documented experience and advanced training in equine equine emergency and critical care.
  • • Strong team orientation, adequate clinical experience, high motivation for outstanding patient care, and excellent teaching skills for students, interns, and residents.
  • • Excellent communication skills within clinical, interprofessional, and educational contexts.
  • • Very good English language proficiency at level C1; no formal certificate is required, as assessment will take place during the interview.
