We are looking for an excited chemist to join our group as a postdoc (recognised reseacrher R2) at University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague) to help us develop good strategies for a more sustainable future!

Two projects are available, one on “Catalysts and Methods for Recycling Commodity Polymers“, funded by the national funding scheme GAČR Junior Star, and one on “Development of catalysts and catalytic systems for the efficient synthesis of degradable and/or functional polyolefins“ by the Dagmar Procházková Funding, provided by UCT Prague. The candidates will be part of an international environment, working in a newly opened laboratory with all necessary facilities.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and with excellent work ethics. A background in polymer synthesis and homogeneous catalysis is highly appreciated.

Benefits

The postdoctoral candidate will be employed full-time for a starting contract of 12 months by UCT Prague, starting as soon as possible. The employment contract includes 40-hours working week, 5 weeks of vacation, health insurance costs included in the gross salary, and access to in-house language courses and to institutional childcare. Assistance with relocation to the Czech Republic is provided by experienced staff of the Welcome Office.

UCT Prague facilities are located in the vibrant city of Prague, with excellent transport connection to the city center (just 3 metro stations off the Old Town) and to the airport.

A first selection will be made on the basis of the application documents (CV, letter of motivation and research summary). Candidates who pass this first selection step will be invited to an interview.
