Specific Requirements

We are looking for you if you:

• • are motivated and goal-oriented, independent and eager to engage in inter- and transdisciplinary research.
• • hold a Master’s degree or are about to finish a Master in relevant fields such as science and technology studies (STS), transition studies, innovation studies, or a related social science discipline. Candidates with a health or life-sciences background and substantial training in technology and society or policy and management are also encouraged to apply.
• • have expertise and skills in qualitative, empirical research, and in co-creation methods (or you have a strong interest in these).
• • have sharp analytical skills and can demonstrate a combination of excellent research and organisation skills.
• • have excellent writing and communication skills in English, demonstrated through a writing example such as your Master’s thesis.
• • can communicate effectively with various stakeholders (including the wider network in the biomedical domain and animal-free testing, such as developers and researchers, as well as societal and policy actors).
• • are willing to acquire new skills required for the research of the PhD project.

Benefits

We offer:

• • a position (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) for 1 year, with an extension to a total of four years upon a successful assessment in the first year, and with the specific intent that it results in a doctorate within this period;
• • a gross monthly salary between € 3.059 and €3.881 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale P under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU));
• • 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
• • a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible terms of employment based on the CAO NU.
