Post: Senior Research Assistant B GroSafe Project (Fixed-term specified-purpose Wholetime basis for up to 18 months) (Reference: 663a/2025)

Location: The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Regular attendance at other sites will be required

Hours of Work: A 37-hour working week is in operation.

Salary: It is expected that appointees will commence at Point 01 of the relevant pay scale i.e. Senior Research Assistant B €40,858, unless the arrangements set out in Circular Letter 08/2019 apply PMSS---Starting-Pay---Revised-Arrangements.pdf

Essential

1. B.Sc. (Hons) (NFQ Level 8) in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification awarded by an approved degree-awarding authority.

2. Evidence of familiarity with Cloud services and Web development frameworks.

3. Strong software development, testing, and debugging knowledge.

4. Knowledge of front-end and back-end design and development, including React, Cloud Databases, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and UX.

5. 4+ years of software development experience in web and/or mobile applications.

6. 1+ years of experience in LLM AI research, development, and evaluation.

7. Experience with software development platforms.

8. Proven ability to take semi-independent ownership of software development projects and deliver results in line with established requirements / KPIs.

9. Advanced experience in configuring and managing Cloud services, including provisioning, scaling, and security management.

10. Experience with database infrastructure and implementation.

Essential Criteria for a Senior Research Assistant

1. A Master’s Degree (NQF L9) or equivalent in a relevant discipline

OR

Five years’ post-primary degree relevant research experience in the public or private sector.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their demonstration of meeting every essential criterion so are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria.

Desirable

1. Working knowledge of mixed-method research techniques.

2. Experience conducting research with vulnerable populations.

3. Experience with data analysis using Python, R, or similar software.

4. Experience with common LLM AI / ML platforms and methodologies, such as Phi, Granite, LLama, and Mistral.

5. Proven experience in deploying, optimizing, and maintaining applications in a Cloud environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
