The recruited researcher will conduct their research at IMAG, within the Geometry, Topology, and Algebra (GTA) team, and will collaborate on the ANR PLAGE project in partnership with Jérémie Brieussel.

Located on the Triolet Campus of the University of Montpellier, IMAG is one of the gateways to mathematics in Occitanie. It comprises 170 members and is organized into four research teams: Analysis, Scientific Computing, and Optimization of Montpellier (ACSIOM); Didactics and Epistemology of Mathematics (DEMA); Probability and Statistics Team (EPS); and Geometry, Topology, and Algebra (GTA).

main mission

Research in the fields of the ANR project PLAGE and more generally in geometry of groups and dynamics of group actions.

This position is funded by the ANR project PLAGE, for PLongement, Actions de Groupes, Ergodicité (embeddings, group actions, ergodicity), lead by Jérémie Brieussel (Université de Montpellier) and Romain Tessera (Université Paris Cité), devoted especially to the study of

- Actions on metric spaces, fixed points versus properness,

- Topological and measured dynamics of group actions,

- Coarse geometry of locally compact groups

The net monthly salary is between €2,200 and €2,380
