The DEPRO research group at the University of Cantabria is seeking a PhD researcher with expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to contribute to ongoing research projects focused on sustainability assessment and environmental impact evaluation.

The selected candidate will participate in research activities related to the assessment of environmental impacts of products, processes and value chains, contributing to the development of methodologies, models and decision-support tools based on life cycle thinking.

Main responsibilities include:

• • Conducting Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies.
• • Compiling life cycle inventories and modelling processes and products.
• • Analysing and interpreting environmental impact results.
• • Preparing scientific publications, technical reports and project deliverables.
• • Collaborating in national and European research projects.
• • Supporting the identification and preparation of new research proposals.

The research activities may address sustainability challenges across different sectors such as agri-food systems, fisheries, tourism and other productive sectors, applying life cycle methodologies to evaluate environmental impacts and support more sustainable production and consumption systems.
