Postdoctoral fellow position in the Division of Molecular Biology, Laboratory of Chemical Biology, for work on the Czech-Croatian bilateral project IPCZ-2025-04-2521: Role of Indole Metabolism in Enhancing Abiotic Stress Tolerance in Brassicaceae (InMetaBra), for a term of 21 months with the possibility of extension until the end of the project period, 1 executor.

Skills/Qualifications

In addition to the general criteria for employment from Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• • academic degree of PhD in the scientific field of natural sciences, field of biology, PhD disertation in plant biology;
• • experience in plant biology with biochemical and molecular biology methods,
• • active knowledge of English in speech and writing.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in plant abiotic stress, knowledge of biochemical and molecular biology methods, and published scientific papers in the field of plant sciences.

Specific Requirements

In addition to the application document, applicant needs to provide: Curriculum Vitae (CV), Diploma, e-mail address of at least one referee, and other evidence needed for satisfying position related selection criteria

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

The candidate cannot be employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Republic of Croatia for a total of more than four years.

The employment, according to the Rules of Croatian Science Foundation - for work on a project as Postdoctoral Fellow, can be contracted a maximum of two times (i.e. on two different projects) and only with candidates whose period between the enrolment in doctoral studies and this employment is no longer than 10 years.

A work contract with a Postdoctoral Fellow can be concluded upon the consent of Croatian Science Foundation.

The employment includes a six-month trial period.
