IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Position for the Biotechnological Processes Unit, seeking talented and motivated candidates to work on biogas production from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste.

This position is part of the HUB Madrid Vuela Sostenible Project, a regional R&D initiative focused on the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• • Optimization of anaerobic culture conditions of microorganisms aimed at enhancing biogas production.
• • Development and operation of bioprocesses in bioreactors at both laboratory and pilot scale.
• • Analysis of biological and physicochemical parameters to monitor and control microbial performance.
• • Microbial community analysis.
• • Modelling of the anaerobic digestion process.
• • Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in congresses, etc.
• • Preparation of project proposals for national and international funding calls related to the topic.
• • Supervision of PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students.
