The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, acting under the authority of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, announces a competition for the position of Adiunct in the group of research and teaching staff at the Institute of Experimental Physics of the University of Gdańsk.

The competition is open to candidates who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571 as amended) and in the Statute of the University of Gdańsk of 13 June 2019 (as amended).

APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 1, 2026

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Full-time position (100%), fixed-term employment contract (3 years), salary according to the pay scales applicable at the University of Gdańsk.

COMPETITION RESOLUTION DATE: by June 15, 2026

Skills/Qualifications

• • A doctoral degree in physical sciences or a related discipline.
• • Clearly defined research interests within experimental physics consistent with the statutory activities of the Institute of Experimental Physics, in particular solid-state, molecular, or atomic spectroscopy. Additional advantage will be given for research experience in solid-state physics and optoelectronic materials, molecular, atomic, or nuclear physics, including studies of materials for ionizing radiation detection.
• • Conducting research in physical sciences documented by publications in scientific journals in which the candidate is a co-author.
• • Active participation in scientific life, in particular through presentations at international and national conferences and symposia.
• • Documented experience in obtaining and implementing research grants as a team member or principal investigator.
• • Documented international or domestic research internship.
• • Documented experience in teaching activities.
• • Knowledge of Polish and English at a level allowing the candidate to conduct classes (if the candidate does not know Polish, they will be required to achieve such proficiency within one year of employment).
