Project title: Improving Precision in Flavour Physics with Simulation-Based
Approaches
IP: Dr. Bernat Capdevila
Host institution / group: Institute of Cosmos Sciences (ICCUB), University of Barcelona; Particle Physics Phenomenology group.
Main responsibilities / tasks:
1. Develop anomaly detection methods using Machine Learning and
Simulation-Based Inference for high-dimensional parameter spaces and
inference of unmeasured observables.
2. Improve computational methods to extract the CKM matrix element Vub
from inclusive decays using deep learning approaches.
Environment: ICCUB is a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence; opportunities to collaborate with members of the Particle Physics Phenomenology group and close interactions with Prof. Javier Virto’s group.
