The Social Epidemiology, Mental Health and Addiction (ESSMA) group of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with strong project managing skills for the final phase of the IMPROVA European research project.

As part of this project, the ESSMA team led, on behalf of France, the co-creation and evaluation phases of an online platform designed to promote adolescent mental health in schools. The main objective during this period (August 2026 – March 31, 2027) is to ensure the operational coordination of Work Package 4 (WP4), led by Inserm, and to actively participate in the production and validation of the final major institutional reports, in direct collaboration with dedicated expert partners.

Now that the field evaluation phases in the four trial countries (Germany, Spain, France, and Romania) have been completed, this position focuses exclusively on project management and administrative closure. It does not involve any field coordination, contact with schools, or monitoring of the study.

Under the operational supervision of the current project manager (C. Davisse-Paturet), the core of the role requires a strong project management approach, focused on negotiation, oversight, and co-authoring. This involves managing the production schedule, consolidating technical contributions, and supporting the finalization of strategic reports prior to their submission to the European Commission. As part of their responsibilities, the successful candidate will support relations with the global coordinating team (SJD, Spain) and technical partners. All of these activities will be conducted in English.

Internally, project monitoring requires organizing final meetings among the various members involved, drafting the associated meeting minutes, and consolidating information to facilitate decision-making and approvals by the project manager and the scientific lead (M. Melchior).

Moreover, the postdoctoral researcher will be strongly encouraged to develop and led their own research projects. The team will make sure the candidate will have dedicated time during working hours to do so.

Lastly, the successful candidate is expected to take part in the scientific life of the ESSMA group.
