Laboratory of Plant Cell Biology (https://pcb.ug.edu.pl) at Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of University of Gdańsk & Medical University of Gdańsk is looking for a postdoc.

Your role: You will undertake postdoctoral training in plant molecular, cell, and developmental biology and work in the field of the plant endomembrane system. You will introduce in our laboratory the bryophyte models Physcomitrium (Physcomitrella) patens and Marchantia polymorpha and apply these models to investigate the molecular mechanism of function and evolution of the intracellular trafficking regulator GNOM ARF-GEF involved in auxin-regulated plant body patterning, using methods of molecular biology, experimental genetics, and live imaging. 

Your profile: You have a PhD degree or are close to obtaining a PhD in bryophyte biology, with a track record of first author publication(s) or manuscript(s). You have hands-on experience in molecular, cell and/or developmental biology work on Physcomitrium patens or Marchantia polymorpha and are motivated to undertake a postdoctoral project requiring independence and responsibility. You have a collaborative spirit and a good command of English required to communicate effectively in an international environment, write manuscripts, and present on conferences.

We offer: 4-year postdoctoral position in a young and well-funded research group. A patient advisor who dedicates 100% working time to his research group and has a substantial track record in internationally recognized science. Travel to international conferences. This is a postdoctoral position funded under National Science Centre of Poland SONATA BIS 14 grant with a competitive salary set at 110%, and a flexible starting date anticipated between December 2026 and March 2027.
