Title: Collaboration agreement between the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities and the Universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo for the Reinforcement of Management Staff and the Consolidation of Research Structures 2023–2026.

LOCATION AND TIMES: CICA – Interdisciplinary Centre for Chemistry and Biology. Monday to Friday, 08:00–15:00

Support for the centre’s operational and strategic management: collaboration with CICA’s management on coordination and supervision tasks, particularly in relation to scientific strategy, planning and the management of R&D&I activities, within the framework of competitive calls for proposals for research centres, such as the SUG Research Centres programme, the María de Maeztu accreditations and other similar initiatives promoting scientific excellence. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months 

Quality management and research indicators: development, updating and maintenance of databases and indicators relating to the quality of research carried out at the centre, including those required for accreditations such as the SUG Research Centres accreditation. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months 

Scientific and technical documentation: support in the preparation of reports, documents and scientific and technical indicators relating to R&D&I activities, projects, innovation and technology transfer at the centre. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months 

Funding and projects: identifying and monitoring public and private funding calls (national and international). Support in the preparation, review and management of project proposals, both for CICA’s research groups and for the centre’s own projects, collaborating with the UDC’s International Projects Office (OPI) in the submission of competitive proposals. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months

 Internationalisation: supporting CICA’s participation in European and international projects, including the search for strategic partners, participation in international R&D&I clusters and networks, and raising the centre’s profile on the international stage. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months 

Recruitment of research talent: support for the definition and development of strategies to recruit research talent, identification and monitoring of competitive calls for the recruitment of research staff, and support in the preparation, review and management of applications, in collaboration with the for the Recruitment of Research Staff (OCPI) at the UDC. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months

Cross-disciplinary training and mentoring: support for the planning, organisation and monitoring of cross-disciplinary training activities aimed at staff attached to the centre, and management of the centre’s mentoring programme. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months 

Knowledge transfer: coordination, supervision and monitoring of the transfer unit’s activities, supporting strategic planning, the setting of priorities and the evaluation of the actions carried out. 1 November 2026 31/12/2026 2 months.

The “CICA – Interdisciplinary Centre for Chemistry and Biology” at the UDC was accredited in 2024 as a Research Centre within the Galician University System (SUG), joining the Xunta de Galicia’s CIGUS Network as a centre of research excellence. CICA currently has 30 affiliated research groups and focuses on three strategic thematic areas: Biomedicine (BMed); Food, Pollution and Health (ACeS); and Nanoscience and Advanced Materials (NeMA). The centre’s accreditation and membership of the CIGUS Network in Galicia will require specific support and monitoring tasks, as well as a strategic vision for the future, in which CICA will seek to maintain its scientific excellence and distinctiveness within the Galician research landscape. One of the key priorities for CICA in this new phase will be to strengthen the centre’s R&D management and support structure, making it more specialised, in line with the management models of other leading research centres in the region. Specifically, CICA needs to recruit a person responsible for the institutional management of R&D&I: projects, quality and scientific promotion, who will be part of the centre’s Management Office, with training and experience in CICA’s thematic R&D&I areas, experience in research centres accredited by the Xunta de Galicia, and experience in the operational and strategic management of R&D. The appointed specialist will assist in the organisation, preparation and management of activities relating to these areas, as well as supporting technology transfer, and will also provide direct support to CICA’s management on various matters within their remit.
