- work environment: The position is hosted at the Laboratoire de Mécanique et Génie Civil (LMGC, BIOTIC team) of the University of Montpellier, in collaboration with LIRMM, IRMB/CARTIGEN, and the industrial partner Symétrie. The project lies at the interface of biomechanics, robotics, imaging, and biology, within a stimulating interdisciplinary ecosystem.

- main mission: To develop and integrate a robotic platform for multiscale biomechanical testing of murine cartilage and intervertebral discs under biomimetic loading conditions, coupled with advanced imaging systems.

- activities: 

• • Adapt and optimize the SOLANO miniaturized hexapod robot (Symétrie) for high-precision dynamic biomechanical tests.
• • Improve actuation control (speed, smoothness, accuracy).
• • Synchronize with advanced imaging systems (micro-CT, OCT, multiphoton microscopy, SEM).
• • Develop customized physiological and pathological loading protocols.
• • Conduct ex vivo tests on murine tissues and analyze micro- and nanoscale cell/tissue deformation.
• • Collaborate with IRMB to correlate ex vivo data with in vivo gait and behavioral analyses.
• • Disseminate results in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.

The net monthly salary is between €2,200 and €2,380

The contract duration is 18 months
