CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

for the selection of one faculty member to a scientific-teaching position of Assistant Professor, in the scientific area of Natural Sciences, scientific field of Physics, on a permanent basis.

Applicants who apply for the position must, in addition to the requirements stated in this Call for Applications, meet the general requirements prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No. 119/2022) and the requirements prescribed by the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria (Official Gazette No. 42/2026).

Applicants shall submit, along with a signed application, the following documents: a curriculum vitae, proof of citizenship, and foreign nationals must also submit proof of proficiency in the Croatian language (C2 – advanced level), proof of the relevant academic degree obtained, a bibliography containing information on scientific, teaching and professional activities, publications, and other evidence demonstrating the fulfilment of the required criteria.

Applicants invoking the right of priority in employment pursuant to special regulations must refer to this right in their application and shall have priority over other candidates only under equal conditions established by this Call for Applications, based on a duly submitted, complete and timely application. Applicants invoking the right of priority in employment pursuant to Articles 102 and 103 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members (Official Gazette Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23) are required, in addition to evidence proving the fulfilment of the required conditions, to submit all necessary documents referred to in Article 103, paragraph 1. By submitting an application, applicants expressly agree that the Faculty of Science, University of Split, as the controller of the personal data collection, may collect, use and further process personal data for the purpose of conducting the recruitment procedure, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation.

For applicants who meet the formal requirements of the Call for Applications, an assessment of knowledge and abilities relevant to the performance of the duties of the position may be conducted through testing and/or an interview. All information regarding the testing procedure will be published on the official website of the Faculty of Science in Split:

at least five days before the scheduled date of the assessment.

If an applicant fails to attend the assessment, it will be considered that they have withdrawn their application. Applicants will be notified of the place and time of the assessment by electronic mail to the e-mail address provided in their application. Applicants of both genders may apply under equal conditions.

A complete application is considered to be one that contains all required attachments and is personally signed by the applicant. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered, and applicants with incomplete applications will not be invited to supplement them.

Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection procedure within the legally prescribed period.
