CERGE-EI invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the fields of economics of science, economics of education, and labour economics. The position is for one to three years and is full-time (negotiable). The start date is flexible. The salary is EUR 3,000 to 4,000 per month gross.

The candidate will join a research project “New Technologies and Changes in Education, Research and Labour Market” led by prof. Štěpán Jurajda. Examples of research topics that would fit within the project include:

• Labour market impacts of new technologies such as robots and AI
• New technology, such as AI or apps, in education and its impacts
• Education policy, STEM fields and gender
• Evaluation of public support for research and development
• Bibliometrics, research assessment, and open access publishing
• Career development and collaboration of researchers in academia, academic inbreeding

CERGE-EI, the joint workplace of Charles University and of the Czech Academy of Sciences, combines a US-style PhD program in economics with an economics research center. The research environment is excellent. There are no language requirements other than fluency in English.
