The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is offering the following position:

postdoc position 

in the cluster "Sustainability in Art". This position will be filled as soon as possible for a limited period of 5 years with an employment volume of 20 hours per week and is assigned to the Institute of Fine Arts (IBK). 

In this position, you will design research structures and discourse spaces on issues of sustainability in art at the Academy and build a research cluster. You will develop a structural model and implement concrete cooperation activities to involve Academy members and other stakeholders in the cluster's research activities. In coordination with the Rectorate's guidelines, you will use an ecological-systemic approach with the intention of initiating transformative social processes. 

areas of responsibility 

• Acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects in the research area "Sustainability in Art"
• Initiation of cooperation at the interface between art, art history, artistic research and other disciplines relevant to sustainability
• independent, innovative research and development of research drafts in the subject area of the cluster “Sustainability in Art”
• strategic development of the cluster in coordination with the Rectorate
• Research coordination and program management of the project portfolio to be developed
• Independent development of teaching content and holding of courses as well as development of further knowledge transfer formats in the field of “Sustainability in Art” (mediation, science communication, further training, etc.)
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures within the research cluster
  

employment requirements 

• a completed doctorate/PhD that is eligible for employment
• relevant research experience and relevant track record, including peer-reviewed publications
• Proof of having taken courses in the tertiary sector for at least 2 semesters
• didactic/pedagogical competence
• Knowledge and experience in project management or substantial experience in project-related work
• Experience in communicating complex issues in their social, methodological and structural dimensions
• a excellent knowledge of German and very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• structured and independent way of working
• teamwork and communication skills
• basic understanding of discrimination and the willingness to continue training in this area

The monthly gross salary according to the collective agreement for university employees in salary group B1 is currently EUR 1,857.40 for an employment level of 20 hours per week.
