The employment requires characterizing nanomaterials and studying their capacity to extract heavy metal ions from water in dynamic mode. The mechanisms involved in the extraction of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions will be studied. In addition, knowledge in adsorption isotherms and dynamic adsorption models will be necessary to perform the study. The candidate must also have knowledge in photocatalytic degradation of organic molecules under light exposure. 


The position requires to work in collaboration with private companies. Good organizational skills, ability to work with other researchers through collaborative work is essential, a strong sense of communication and self-motivation are important. Knowledge in hydrometallurgy will be a plus. The appointee will perform water remediation studies using nanocomposites. 



Skills/Qualifications

Applicants must possess a PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science or closely related discipline. 

A good command of spoken and written English is required. 

Knowledge in the field of nanomaterials, photocatalysis and water remediation is a prerequisite.
