We offer a position for a researcher interested to contribute to the full-fledged integrated assessment of policies in support to a sustainable, green transition, through identification of systemic changes for its successful implementation. The work entails identification of barriers to implementation, of leverage points and enablers (solution-oriented approach), evaluation of the sustainability of proposed solutions and assessment of coherence among EU policies to identify co-benefits and trade-offs. 

The selected candidate will carry out policy analysis in a multidisciplinary environment, liaising with different related research teams inside and outside the Commission, contributing to the design of future-oriented solutions and tools that embrace complexity and system thinking in co-creation with national, regional and local authorities, stakeholders and citizens for a successful implementation of a green transition pathway. 

The work will also explore the transformative potential of sustainable green innovations and the most promising areas of intervention, contributing to understand the enabling conditions for their effective development, management, scaling, and adoption, and generating actionable insights into collaborative pathways to advance Europe’s green transition.

The candidate will also contribute to provide knowledge base and tools for policy coherence and for ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of policy options in relation to simplification and the competitiveness compass. A special focus on SMEs and start-ups is envisaged, to understand the challenges in scaling up solutions.
