The director of Robert Zajonc Institute for Social Studies with the consent of the Rector of the University of Warsaw, announces a competition for the position of assistant professor

Skills/Qualifications

- Fulfilment of the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, consolidated text)

- Possession of a doctoral degree in social sciences in the discipline of sociology,

- Academic achievements in the areas of sociology of social problems, digital sociology, social policy, and urban policy studies,

- Teaching experience in the above-mentioned areas,

- Experience in implementing interdisciplinary scientific research projects,

- Experience in conducting social research using both qualitative and quantitative methods,

- Proficiency in qualitative analysis software (e.g., MAXQDA, NVIVO, Atlas.ti) and quantitative analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R),

- Experience in teaching and delivering conference presentations in English,

- Documented academic stay or internship at a foreign university,

- Significant academic achievements, including authorship of at least three articles published in recognized international peer-reviewed journals,

- Experience in securing funding for individual research from external sources (e.g., National Science Centre grants, Minister’s scholarship),

- Experience in working in national and international research projects funded by external sources (e.g., NCN, European Commission, Ministry of Education and Science, etc.),

- Active participation in academic life, demonstrated by presentations at national and international conferences,

- Very good command of English.

Specific Requirements

- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary research team,

- Willingness to collaborate with public institutions in the areas of data collection and dissemination of research findings.
